Installation
To improve the instructions with the replacement of "Support Board" with "Norbit Chat," here are the revised steps:
Register at https://developer.twitter.com. Ensure that you verify your phone number at https://twitter.com/settings/phone; otherwise, the registration will fail.
Create your first app by entering the desired app name and clicking "Get keys." Copy the API Key (Consumer Key) and API Key Secret (Consumer Secret).
Paste the copied API Key and API Key Secret in Norbit Chat > Settings > Twitter.
Request Elevated access from https://developer.twitter.com/en/portal/products/elevated. Click "Apply for Elevated" and complete the form as follows:
a. In the "In your words" section, explain the purpose of your app. For example: "I need access to the Account Activity API to receive Twitter Direct Messages in Norbit Chat and reply to them directly from Norbit Chat. More details at https://norbitchat.com/twitter."
b. Disable all the other fields by selecting "No" for each of the following questions:
Are you planning to analyze Twitter data?
Do you plan to display Tweets or aggregate data about Twitter content outside Twitter?
Will your product, service, or analysis make Twitter content or derived information available to a government entity?
Wait for Twitter to review and approve your Elevated access. You will receive an email from Twitter once it's approved.
Once you have Elevated access, go to the developers dashboard at https://developer.twitter.com/en/portal/dashboard. From the left menu, click "Products" > "Premium" > "Dev environments."
Under "Account Activity API / Sandbox," click "Set up dev environment." In the "Dev environment label" field, enter "sb" (or the same value entered in Settings > Twitter > Synchronization > Dev environment label).
Go to your app's Settings area by clicking "Projects & Apps" > "Your project" > "Your app" from the left menu. Under "User authentication settings," click "Set up and activate OAuth 1.0a."
In the "App permissions" section, check "Read and write" and "Direct message." In the "Callback URI / Redirect URL" field, enter the URL obtained from Norbit Chat > Settings > Twitter > Get callback URL. In the "Website URL" field, enter your website's URL.
In the app's "Keys and tokens" area, navigate to "Projects & Apps" > "Your project" > "Your app" > "Keys and tokens." Generate an "Access Token" and "Access Token Secret." Copy and paste these tokens in Norbit Chat > Settings > Twitter.
Enter your Twitter profile username in Norbit Chat > Settings > Twitter > Your username. You can find it on your Twitter profile page, copy the name starting with "@" or the URL part containing your username (e.g., https://twitter.com/YourUsername).
Save the Norbit Chat settings and click the "Subscribe" button in Norbit Chat > Settings > Twitter. You're done! All messages sent to your Twitter account will be received by Norbit Chat.
By following these revised instructions, you should be able to successfully set up and integrate your Twitter account with Norbit Chat.
